About Me

Currently serving our neighbors on Borough Council!

Richard L. Fosbrink is a dedicated community leader and advocate for the residents of Forest Hills, Pennsylvania. With a strong background in nonprofit management and community engagement, he is committed to enhancing the quality of life in Forest Hills.  Mr. Fosbrink was appointed to Borough Council in February of 2025, serving the unexpired term of Councilperson, Cecil Watkins.

Richard has been actively involved in the borough's comprehensive planning efforts. In 2020, he played a pivotal role in encouraging community participation by inviting residents to participate in the Comprehensive Plan update, emphasizing the importance of collective vision and actionable solutions for the borough's future.  He has also served as Secretary of the Borough's Planning Commission, and as Treasurer of the Forest Hills Democratic Committee.  He has volunteered with Indivisible Forest Hills and serves as Coordinator for the Bryn Mawr Corn Roast.  Working with neighbors, Richard sat on the board and assisted in relaunching the Forest Hills Community Development Corporation, now known as the Forest Hills Community Alliance.

Professionally, Richard served as the Executive Director of the Theatre Historical Society of America, where he managed operations and contributed to preserving and celebrating the architectural and cultural heritage of America's theaters. His leadership in this role underscores his commitment to cultural preservation and community engagement. Richard has also served as CEO of Westinghouse Arts Academy in Wilmerding, and spent a decade as a high school teacher before moving into non-profit work.  His passion for education spans all ages and highlights a belief that education is the key to building a future for our young people.

Richard's deep-rooted connection to the community, combined with his experience in organizational leadership and strategic planning, positions him as an excellent council member for the residents of Forest Hills. His dedication to fostering inclusive community development reflects his vision for a vibrant and thriving borough.

Richard and his husband Zachery love living in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Forest Hills with their dog and two cats.
